The commodities include subcontract aircraft parts, tooling, raw material, outside processes, Maintenance and Repair Operations (MRO) supplies, capital equipment or other items identified by management.Essential Job Responsibilities
Identify, evaluate and develop sources for a variety of productsPrepare Request for Quotation (RFQ's) to obtain competitive bids from approved sourcesEvaluate and negotiate supplier proposalsReview and evaluate product quality, supplier qualifications, manufacturing capability, lead time, contractual issues and costProvide cost and lead time information provided by supplier to appropriate individuals at LMIPerform planning and forecasting, and risk assessment activities to support long lead purchases and including transmittal to customers and suppliers when requiredPerform obsolescence review and make disposition recommendationsPrepare purchase orders, contracts and award justification documentsEvaluate requirements and determine appropriate purchasing methodsNegotiate specific contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authorityDevelop strategic supplier relationships while serving as primary liaison with suppliersEnsure suppliers are provided necessary information, tooling and materialsMaintain related purchasing records such as: items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance and inventoriesAddress supplier disputes and performance deficienciesMonitor and control supplier delivery performanceDevelop and utilize Supplier Management ?Best Practices? to proactively manage suppliersMonitor and control inventory levels and spend consistent with management?s strategic planDiscuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, suppliers and others to determine cause and take or recommend corrective actionEducation RequiredBachelor Degree or equivalent education, training and experience.Experience RequiredMinimum three (3) years of experience in procurement/supply chain in a manufacturing environment or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience.In order to comply with U.S. government regulations applicable to this position, all applicants must be either a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S. as defined in 8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(20), or a ?protected individual? as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).Physical/Work Requirements
Ability to sit for extended periods, working at a desk and/or attending meetings.Use various computer and office equipment as well as be able to move throughout the office and manufacturing area in order to talk/hear or otherwise communicate with employees, management, customers, vendors, and others.?Noise level in the work environment ranges from quite to loud.Employee will be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when working on the plant floor.Physical Requirements: Must be able to sit for extended periods of time at a desk working and/or attending meetings with periodic breaks.? Must be able to move throughout the office and/or manufacturing area and talk, hear or otherwise communicate with employees, management, customers, suppliers and others.
