Global Business Analyst is a critical role responsible to work with
Subject Matter Experts to establish efficient and harmonized
business processes, especially those involving shared software
systems used by Eurofins Discovery's products and services teams
globally. To this end, the position will develop process flows and
document requirements to translate business needs to IT and,
subsequently, test and train end users on related business process
and systems.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Works with Subject Matter Experts, SMEs, to understand and
document existing and future business processes
- Identifies and documents ways to harmonize, simplify and
improve operational efficiency in business processes and how IT
systems can support this effort
- Working with SMEs, provides expert guidance in the design of
proposed enhancements to support new business initiatives and
integrate new businesses
- Provides leadership to teams as a change agent, with vision to
support change management and adoption of new business
processes
- Translates complex functional and User Interface (UI) needs
into specifications for the IT development team and manages the
life cycle, from creation to deployment, of these User Requirements
(URs)
- Reviews and refines test cases to support User Acceptance
Testing (UAT) of IT applications
- Performs UAT to ensure the quality of IT development and is the
final approver of changes for Production deployments
- Drafts / updates Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), user
guides, process maps to document definitions and business process
and how teams will use business systems to support these
processes
- Develops training materials, trains and supports global
users
- Troubleshoots issues reported by system users
- Works with Business Sponsors and Business Project Managers to
help define and prioritize project milestones and timelines
- For certain projects, may conduct voice of customer with
external users to improve user experience
- Works independently with minimal supervision to establish
activities, and related priorities, to accomplish responsibilities
and achieve timelines
- Occasionally, adjusts work hours as needed to facilitate global
discussions across time zones and/or meet critical deadlines
- Schedules travel to accomplish project goals while adhering to
travel budgets
- Demonstrates and promotes the company vision
- Conducts all activities in a safe and efficient manner
- Regular attendance and punctuality
- Adheres to site Environmental Health and Safety (EHS)
requirements
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education/Experience (BMQ):
- Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Engineering,
Computer Science or Management Information Systems, Life Sciences,
or any other equivalent degree or experience
- Minimum of 3 years of Business Analyst work experience,
preferably related to business processes involving ERP, web and/or
CRM systems
- Familiarity with software development process, including
requirement gathering, analysis/design, development
tools/technologies, release/version control, contemporary testing
methodologies and deployment management.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple, complex
projects simultaneously from concept to completion to achieve
project milestones on time
- Experience in working across functional teams to achieve
project goals
- Experience troubleshooting system errors encountered by
users
Additional Preferences
- Experience using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) (e.g.,
Microsoft Dynamics AX, SAP, Oracle) systems
- Experience using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems
(e.g., MS CRM, SalesForce.com)
- Experience using Content Management Systems (CMSs) (e.g.,
WordPress, Umbraco)
- Experience using Enterprise Business Intelligence (BI) tools
(e.g., Pyramid Analytics, SAP BusinessObjects, etc.)
- Experience navigating interdependencies between IT systems
- Experience working in an Agile/SCRUM environment
- Experience working for a CRO, Life Science, Biotech or Pharma
company
Ability And/or Skills (BMQ)
- Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word,
PowerPoint)
- Experience using process flow diagram (e.g., Visio, Bazagi)
programs
- Excels at creative / critical thinking and problem solving
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication
skills
- Works well under pressure and with quick time lines
- Process and detail oriented, well organized, and ability to
multi-task in a results oriented environment
- Ability to effectively communicate, in English, with subject
matter experts, business stakeholders, IT team and clients,
including those for whom English is a second language
- Ability to solve practical problems, define cause and effect,
map dependencies in process.
- Ability to work independently with limited oversight, in a
complex global environment
