The Human Resource Intern provides support for the effective administration of HR operations. Responsibilities include assisting with data reporting and administration, various employee tracking functions, leave administration, recordkeeping, recruiting assistance and other duties as necessary to ensure maximum effectiveness of the Human Resources function.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

+ Provides prompt, courteous, and accurate customer support in resolution of human resource transactions support as it pertains to employment verification, education assistance and related inquires for multi-locations; includes strictly adhering to policies of HR.

+ Accurately track and maintain employee records including assisting with tracking furlough data, on-boarding data, unemployment compensation, employment adjustments and exit data for multi-locations.

+ Maintains confidentiality as it pertains to all Human Resource and Payroll information.

+ Performs a wide variety of duties to support the administration of leaves of absence - FMLA, STD, LTD, military leave, non-FMLA medical leave, and personal leave of absence (non-medical).

+ Support recruiting function, as needed.

+ Maintains a log for all leave related data ensuring easy retrieval of information and follow-up; collaborates with HRBPs on leave issue escalation and resolution.

+ Receive and scan paper-based forms; uploading information into the appropriate applications/databases.

+ Participates in system testing and identification of system and user-interface issues; provides feedback to HR leadership and HRIS.

+ Performs several tracking functions in excel and communicates the status thereof to affected parties.

+ Performs other position appropriate duties as required in a competent, professional and courteous manner.


+ Ability to use and navigate through multiple computer applications/databases to enter job data changes and personal data changes as well as to research and log customer inquiries

+ Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required, have experience working with other Microsoft programs such as Word and PowerPoint

+ Working knowledge of HR law such as federal, state and local leave and accommodations regulations, including FMLA, ADA/ADAAA, etc. is desired

+ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while meeting accuracy and production requirements

+ Excellent interpersonal, listening, verbal and written communication skills

+ Ability to build strong cross functional relationships and interact effectively with all levels of staff and management

+ Must be detail oriented, a self-starter and work well independently with limited direct supervision
