Job Description Job Description Job Title: Legal Secretary Location: St. Louis, Missouri (In-Office Position) Firm Size: Small Law Firm (6 Attorneys) Job Type: Full-Time Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (1 hour lunch) Hartnett Reyes-Jones, LLC, a small, established law firm with six attorneys, is seeking a reliable and organized legal secretary to support our legal team. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, professional, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced office environment. Essential functions of the role include: - Prepare, format, and proofread legal documents and correspondence - Transcribe digital dictation - File legal documents with courts (electronic and physical filing) - Maintain attorney calendars, schedule meetings, hearings, and deadlines - Answer phones and communicate with clients in a professional manner - Organize and maintain client files (electronic and paper) Job Specifications/Requirements: - High school diploma or equivalent - Associate’s degree or legal assistant certificate preferred - Previous legal assistant experience preferred - Knowledge of legal terminology and court procedures - Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point and Adobe Acrobat - Experience with e-filing systems preferred - Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to multitask - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Ability to work well independently and with others and maintain confidentiality Salary & Benefits: - Salary commensurate with experience - Paid time off and paid holidays - Health, dental and vision insurance - Retirement plan (after 3 years of employment) This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a small office environment where teamwork, organization, and professionalism are important.
