the company for you! Job Description The Software Engineer is
responsible for platform level, software design of new product
development projects. As part of the Software Engineering team,
this position is integral in the development of new products from
concept design through implementation into production (analyzing,
understanding design requirements, creating a software / firmware
implementation plan) and is involved in overall management of the
software / firmware projects.
- Develops platform level software for Marking and Coding
systems.
- Ability to create and develop both embedded and PC level
software.
- Develops, maintains, and provides customer support for coding
equipment firmware / software.
- Develops new features to existing firmware / software
products.
- Debugs existing firmware / software.
- Performs functional testing / debugging of software.
- Supports sales feedback requests including translation of
customer requirements into software capabilities.
- Develops new firmware / software in coordination with
engineering development objectives from concept through
production.
- Participates in code review process
- Participate in Sprint planning and sprint execution
- Performs analysis, requirements, designs components and tests
product for validation.
- Assists in the development and writing of product functional
and design specifications.
- Works with cross-functional teams consisting of engineers,
operations, sales, and product management.
- Coordinates new product introduction with manufacturing,
service, and product management.
- Maintain focus on continuous improvement by applying 80/20 and
PLS production principles/techniques and makes process improvement
recommendations to management. Qualifications Education: Bachelor's
Degree in Electrical/Software Engineering, Computer Science or
equivalent experience required. Basic Qualifications:
- 2+ year's related experience required; equivalent combination
of education and experience preferred.
- Experience with OS (Linux/Windows) based programming including
file system development, machine interface, and external database
connectivity.
- Experience with Software Programming including C#, C++,
Git
- Technical Aptitude/Knowledge and Creativity is required.
- Excellent Problem Solving, Programming, Troubleshooting
(Debugging), and Decision-making.
- Proficient in the knowledge and use of MS Office (Word, Excel,
Access). Desired Skills/Experience:
- Experience with .NET, LINQ, WPF, MongoDb, Xamarin Forms, ASP,
Unit Testing, Qt, Python
- Experience with the tools Jira, Android, iOS, Visual Studio,
Slack / Microsoft Teams
- Experience working in an Agile Scrum process
- Database programming and support (SQL)
- Frontend and backend design and development experience
- Experience compiling large open-source projects Additional
