Job Description:
American Industrial Transport Inc (AITX) is a privately-owned
company based in St. Charles Missouri, providing railcar leasing
and repair services to the companies that move the essential assets
that power the North American economy.
Job Summary & Essential Functions
Provide leadership and guidance to departments at all AITX
facilities and repair plants. Participate in the development and
implementation of all human resources policies, programs, and
services, including training, recruitment, selection, retention,
compensation, legal compliance, employee benefits, employee
relations, employment practices and procedures, employee
communications and employee events. Foster a workplace environment
consistent with the values and mission outlined by the leadership
of the company. The goal is to help advance the goals of the
company and make the most of the human potential of the
organization.
* Provide day-to-day support and coordination; for human resources
including payroll, benefits, performance management, training and
development, compensation and employee relations.
* Writing new content and delivery of all new HR related trainings
and others (new hire orientations, new initiatives, etc.)
* Coordinate staffing personnel requisitions, job descriptions, job
postings, application processing, interviews, job offers, and drug
testing
* Process paperwork and manage record-keeping-New Employee
Information, I-9's, personnel files, terminations, compensation
changes, etc.
* Support benefits administration - 401(k), Paid Time Off, COBRA,
tuition assistance, FMLA, etc.
* Provide answers to benefits and other human resource inquiries
and other information as appropriate
* Assist in developing guidelines and procedures regarding employee
relations
* Problem-solving, providing direction, answering routine first
level of HR questions; from employees and managers, in the areas of
payroll, benefits, employee programs, and HR policies (i.e., STD,
FMLA, pay, commission, etc.)
* Participate in business meetings, present HR initiatives, and
maintain awareness of on-going business strategy
* Assist managers and employees with effective use of HR management
systems
* Handle unemployment claims, follow up on documentation requests
from third party administrators, attend hearings when necessary
* Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations
concerning employment.? (WARN, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEO etc.)
* Maintain appropriate confidentiality of information processes
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Leadership skills-people management, meeting facilitation,
presentation, and customer support
* Demonstrated ability to communicate with customers and project
company image to attract and retain employees
* Negotiation and conflict management skills together with
demonstrated experience in troubleshooting and problem-solving
* Intermediate level of computer skills in email, Word, Excel, and
PowerPoint; HRIS experience a plus
* Excellent written and verbal skills to interact with people at
all levels and functions inside and outside American Railcar
Industries Inc.
* Exceptional organization skills are required, with emphasis on
attention to detail
* Ability to multi-task efficiently and adapt within a rapidly
changing environment
Required Experience / Education / Training / Certifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or equivalent
* 2-4 years generalist HR experience, have a grasp of training
practices and content writing, state employment law, and the basics
of FMLA, ADA, EEO
