Job Description:
SSM Health is seeking a dedicated and skilled Surgical
Technologist Certified Lead to join our team. This role is pivotal
in ensuring the highest levels of patient care and surgical success
within our not-for-profit Catholic health system. As a leader in
the Operating Room, the Certified Lead will manage surgical
supplies, equipment, and team workflows while also adhering to
strict sterile field standards. The position requires exceptional
communicative abilities, a collaborative spirit, and a deep
commitment to compassionate care that aligns with our mission to
serve through an integrated health care delivery system. Oversee
the sterilization and setup of surgical instruments and equipment
before operations. Ensure the adherence to strict surgical
environment protocols to maintain a sterile field during
procedures. Manage a team of surgical technologists, facilitating
effective communication and teamwork. Assist in surgical operations
under the supervision of surgeons and registered nurses. Conduct
inventory checks and ensure all necessary supplies are available
for each surgery. Provide guidance and training to new staff,
promoting continuous education and improvement of surgical
services. Maintain compliance with all health and safety standards
and regulations. Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and
terminology. Ability to lead and manage a team in a high-stress
environment. Expertise in maintaining sterility and preventing
infections. Efficient in managing surgical instruments and
technologies. Proficient in training and mentoring staff. Excellent
communication and organizational skills. Medical Insurance
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) by the National Board of
Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA). BLS
Certification from the American Heart Association or
equivalent.
