Registered Nurse (RN) | Progressive Care Unit Location: Springfield, IL Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $3,274 per week Shift Information: Nights - 4 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/2/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Stepdown/PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year required License: Must have active IL license to apply Certifications: BLS and NIH required, ACLS preferred Must-Have: Telemetry and Neuro Stepdown experience Cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills Gastrointestinal and genitourinary/renal skills IV therapy and phlebotomy skills Medication administration skills Neurological and orthopedic case experience Respiratory skills Description: This position requires a Registered Nurse with experience in a stepdown or progressive care unit. The nurse will work night shifts and can accommodate a 4x12 schedule if preferred. The minimum patient ratio is typically 1:4. BLS and NIH certifications are mandatory, while ACLS certification is preferred. The nurse must have the ability to float to meet facility needs. Weekend shifts are required, with a schedule of every other weekend. Candidates should possess skills in interpreting and managing dysrhythmias. Experience with telemetry and cardiac care is essential. The nurse will need to manage post-cardiac procedures and renal failure cases. Skills in IV access and medication protocols are crucial. Candidates should have experience caring for ventilated patients and managing tracheostomies. A fast-paced environment and high patient throughput are characteristic of the unit. Isolation precautions and wound care skills are also required. Teaching hospital experience is preferred. Candidates must be able to demonstrate competency in clinical procedures as detailed in the job description.
