psychiatric experience Description: We are seeking a Registered
Nurse for a Behavioral Health unit. The shift requires working
three 12-hour night shifts per week. The nurse will care for an
adult psychiatric population, including geriatric patients.
Patients may have co-morbid medical conditions requiring a med-surg
approach. Experience in starting and maintaining IVs is essential.
Duties include medication administration via various routes.
Knowledge of blood glucose monitoring and Foley catheter insertion
is required. Candidates should be capable of applying restraints
and participating in milieu therapy. The nurse may work as a charge
nurse as needed. All candidates must be open to floating within the
service line. Weekend work is required every other weekend.
Modifications for block schedules are not available. Prior
experience in a locked unit setting is preferred. Travel
assignments welcome first-time travelers with the required
experience. No local candidates will be accepted from within a
specified radius. References from past supervisory roles are
required. Flu vaccination is mandatory, with exemptions available
for medical or religious reasons. The ability to manage diverse
patient diagnoses, including dementia, bipolar disorder, and
anxiety, is crucial. Candidates should expect to engage with an
interdisciplinary team in patient care. All nurses will need to
complete relevant compliance and health checks prior to the start
of the contract. This position offers an opportunity to make a
