Registered Nurse (RN) | Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) / Pre-Post Op Location: Saint Louis, MO Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,372 per week Shift Information: Days - 4 days x 10 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/16/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 hours (08:30 - 19:00) Experience: Minimum of 2 years in PACU or critical care settings License: Valid state nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Critical care experience Experience in a Level I Trauma Center Phase I PACU experience Dysrhythmia recognition and management Blood product administration Phlebotomy skills Starting IVs Experience with IV vasopressors ICP monitoring Care of ventilated patients Description: Schedules are for 4x10 hours, Monday through Friday, with rotating start times as needed. The role primarily involves rotating between PACU and pre/post interventional radiology areas within the PACU unit. The average daily census is between 70-90 patients. The unit consists of 38 patient bays and is open 24/7. Staff is needed for the recovery of a wide array of acute postoperative patients. Critical care experience is required, as some patients may require artificial airways, invasive monitoring, transfusions, and vasoactive drugs. Patients include adults, occasional adolescents, and geriatric populations in a high-acuity environment. Surgical patients recovered include those undergoing neurosurgery, ENT, plastics, orthopedics, thoracic, vascular, trauma, general, colorectal, gynecological, urological, electrophysiology, interventional radiology, and transplant procedures. Open heart surgeries and liver transplants are not included in the recovery scope. There is a need for nurses who are skilled in handling drains, vasoactive drips, mechanical ventilation, and recovery from general anesthesia.
