Registered Nurse (RN) | Psych Location: Saint Louis, MO Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,598 per week Shift Information: Nights - 4 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/9/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Behavioral Health Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: Valid state license required Certifications: BLS, CPI Must-Have: - Experience in geriatric care - Experience with inpatient psychiatric care - Experience in a locked unit - Experience with medical and psychiatric care - Experience in substance use and chemical dependency - Proficiency in medication administration methods (PO, rectal, IM, IV, SC) - Ability to start and maintain IVs - Experience with blood glucose monitoring - Experience with Foley catheter insertion and maintenance Description: This position requires a Registered Nurse specializing in behavioral health. The nurse will manage a patient ratio of 1 nurse to 6 patients. The focus will be on the adult psychiatric population and the geriatric population, ages 18 and older. Some patients may also have co-morbid medical conditions requiring a medical-surgical approach. Common diagnoses include dementia, depression, Parkinson's disease, bipolar disorder, and anxiety. The nurse will be responsible for pre-operative preparation for electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) and providing presence in the milieu. Restraint application will be required as needed. The nurse may work as a charge nurse as needed. Daily census will typically be around 36 patients. The nursing team will float within the behavioral health service line to meet facility needs. Additionally, an understanding of special procedures related to inpatient psychiatric care is necessary. Experience with electronic health records is also required. The nurse will collaborate with interdisciplinary support teams, including physical therapy, social services, and pharmacy. Candidates should be prepared to handle patients who may exhibit severe behavioral challenges and require a comprehensive treatment approach.
