Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine We are seeking a visionary leader
to take on the role of Division Director for Pulmonary, Critical
Care, and Sleep Medicine at our academic institution. This position
will oversee clinical, research, and educational programs across
two academic hospitals. The ideal candidate will be a highly
regarded physician with board certification, exceptional leadership
skills, and a dedication to enhancing patient care and medical
training. This role also involves building collaborative
relationships and expanding the Division's research footprint while
supporting faculty and trainees. Our organization is looking for an
enthusiastic leader to fill the Division Director position within
the Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine department at our
School of Medicine. We embrace the principle of "Cura Personalis,"

a greater good. Our mission is to provide outstanding healthcare
services that embody our values. The Department of Medicine is the
largest within the School, featuring 11 divisions and 15 graduate
medical education programs. The Division of Pulmonary, Critical
Care, and Sleep Medicine consists of 30 faculty members and 12
fellows, operating across two academic hospitals: Saint Louis
University Hospital and Saint Mary Hospital. The Division manages
six ICU teams, staffed around the clock by attending intensivists.
Notable programs include the Adult Cystic Fibrosis Program,
Pulmonary Hypertension Program, and Sleep Disorder Center, all
accredited by national organizations. We pride ourselves on
delivering cutting-edge interventional pulmonary care, with
specialized programs such as the pulmonary embolism response team,
Airway Breathing Center, post-ICU clinic, and interstitial disease
and sarcoidosis program. Renowned for providing high-quality care
in the bi-state area, we also offer exceptional educational
experiences for medical students, residents, and fellows. Currently
engaged in externally funded and industry-sponsored clinical
trials, the Division is in search of a new Director who can enhance
its research initiatives to gain national prominence. Essential
qualifications for this leadership role include a demonstrated
history of providing excellent patient care and training future
healthcare leaders. The ideal candidate will be a nationally
recognized academic figure with expertise in clinical care,
research, clinical education, and mentorship. Strong leadership
qualities, a growth mindset, and advocacy for the Division, its
faculty, trainees, and staff are vital. The successful candidate
should have a proven ability to foster collaborative efforts and
possess the personal attributes necessary to build trust among
colleagues and partners within the healthcare system and the local
VA Medical Center. Integrity, effective communication, and the
ability to cultivate a culture of excellence are crucial for this
position. Applicants must possess an MD, DO, or MD/PhD degree, be
board certified in Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine,
and be eligible for medical licensure in Missouri. Additionally,
candidates should exhibit outstanding leadership capabilities and
administrative experience within an academic medical environment,
along with a strong commitment to clinical care, education,
service, and research. A successful history of talent recruitment
and retention, as well as national or international recognition
through participation in academic and professional organizations,
is highly desirable. The selected candidate is expected to expand
the research enterprise. Our facility has been recognized twice

patients as a Level II Time Critical Diagnosis STEMI Center. St.
