Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiovascular Operating Room Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 4x10 Days Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience required License: Must have an active Illinois license in hand or in the application process Certifications: BLS required; ACLS preferred Must-Have: First-timers accepted Call 1-2 nights per week and every 3-4 weekends Float within the scope to meet facility needs Open to accommodating block schedule requests Description: Position available for a CVOR RN. The average daily census is 10. There are 4 rooms/beds. Experience in trauma or minimally invasive surgery is acceptable. Required work setting experience includes CVOR and General OR. Required cardiovascular skills include Aortic Aneurysm repair, Atrial Septal defect repair, Coronary Artery Bypass Graft, ECMO, Femoral Cannulation, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump, Left Ventricular Assist Device, MAZE Procedure, Mitral Valve replacement, PDA, Pericardial window, TAVR, and scrubbing cardiovascular surgery. Required vascular skills include Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm repair, Arteriovenous fistula repair, Atherectomy, Carotid Endarterectomy, Endovascular Aneurysm Repair, Femoral popliteal bypass graft, scrubbing vascular surgery, and vein stripping. Required thoracic surgery skills include laparoscopic assisted cases, Lobe resection, Mediastinoscopy, Thoracotomy, VATS, and scrubbing thoracic surgery. Endoscopic procedures required include Bronchoscopy, EGD, Laparoscopic assisted cases, Peg tube placement/exchange, and scrubbing endoscopic surgery. Whipple experience is required. Required professional knowledge and skills include Laser Safety, specimen handling/labeling, and Universal Protocol (Time out) procedures. Teaching hospital experience and Level II trauma experience are required. This is a Magnet hospital with a total of 562 staffed beds. Charting system is Cerner. Candidates will float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals when necessary. Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays.
