facilityJob DetailsResponsible for managing all aspects of
production planning and scheduling, manufacturing operations, and
logistics, as well as collaborating with the Supply Chain
organization in fully managing operational throughput for the
organization encompassing a multi-plant global organization. This
position fundamentally will need to develop and execute plans to
meet short-term and long-term operational plan requirements driving
sourcing, planning, and production output, operating in a hands on
management culture to achieve plan results. The Operations Manager
requires minimal direction and is expected to handle more complex
and multiple projects; demonstrates a leadership role with others
within the Manufacturing Operations and offers training and
assistance to other members of this group.Responsibilities: 1.
Implement programs to ensure attainment of established
manufacturing plans. 2. Develop and maintain positive relationships
with employees, co-workers, customers, and suppliers.3. Proactively
handle shortages and other situations by building up a system of
alternative suppliers or materials and monitoring market and
industry trends for all operations. 4. Interfaces with corporate
operations and other sites to support global supply chain efforts.
5. Oversee the effective use of the ERP processes. Identify and
close gaps where needed. 6. Track stock status and availability for
products required to support client's orders and forecasts at all
sites.7. Manage teams responsible for planning and forecasting of
all raw materials for supply chain.8. Analyze and design lean
manufacturing layouts using effective systems and simulation tools
to optimize use of space, equipment, material and people.
- Stay informed of new manufacturing technologies and equipment
to aid in the manufacture and reduction of cost deficiencies.
- Assist in reducing cost through re-engineering
product/materials.9. Work closely with research and development,
quality assurance and maintenance personnel to prevent problems
with products and tooling/fixtures; attend design reviews.10.
Standard cost evaluations and updates. Monitoring cost evaluations
and updates at all locations.11. Mentor others performing
Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Site Support functions (i.e. order
entry, returns and allowances, production scheduling, planning and
shipping).12. Direct staffing, training, and performance
evaluations.13. Performs other duties as assigned.Supervisory
Responsibilities: Oversee and manage the day-to-day activities of a
small group of professionals within a matrix organization
structure. Areas include Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and support
functions. This coordination includes interviewing, hiring and
training employees; planning, assigning and directing work;
appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees;
addressing complaints and resolving problems.Skills, Knowledge and
Abilities: Bachelor's degree with 10 years work-related operations
& supply chain experience; preferably in the manufacturing and/or
engineering field.
- Advanced skills in problem solving, analytical, data analysis,
critical thinking, decision-making and negotiating.
- Advanced working knowledge of purchasing and inventory control
principles.
- Advanced organization skills and ability to prioritize and
multi-task effectively.
- General knowledge of finance, including ability to read and
interpret financial data.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
- Experience with production/inventory control and ERP/MRP
software.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Self-starter, ability to work under pressure with limited or no
supervision.
- Ability to work with others, clients, vendors and co-workers,
in a courteous and professional manner.
- Epicor experience and knowledge, is an added plus.Interested in
