We continue to grow to meet the needs of long-term individual investors.Edward Jones Finance Division has an opportunity to join the Senior Leadership team, as Director of Financial Reporting and Communications. This position has overall finance leadership responsibilities in addition to full ownership of the financial reporting functions including investor relations like finance Communications. This role will have responsibility to help develop and execute upon the finance mission and objectives in addition to setting direction to enhance financial reporting functions and help transform finance to best support the firm's future vision of delivering Human Centered Complete Wealth Management.

Responsibility Summary:
As a Director of the Finance division, this role is part of a Finance Senior Leadership team which has overall responsibility to help ensure the Finance Division achieves current objectives as well as build the division to meet the firm's future needs. This includes continually evolving and supporting the Finance vision, direction and strategies aligned to firm objectives and purpose.
Develop, communicate and execute the Financial Reporting area's vision, strategies and objectives, aligned to Finance and Firm objectives with accountability measures of success.
Define talent needs to accomplish area objectives (current and future), advance organizational capabilities and support succession planning, while fostering an environment of learning and development for team members to achieve their desired development and career goals. Help attract, develop and engage firm talent to enable future success.
Overall responsibility of the firm's financial reporting functions - ensuring all aspects of financial reporting are accurate, timely, controlled and well communicated:
o High integrity of financial close process with appropriate GAAP accounting policies in place and effective controls over financial reporting.
o Support of financial statement audit process.
o Well collaborated firm-wide communication of firm financial results, which highlight important trends and share consistent messages that resonate with all stakeholders (branch and home-office associates, leaders, and partners).
o Develop and deliver financial updates to executive leadership with clear key insights - driving strategic discussion, firm direction and influence on key firm decisions.
o Significant firm and division projects are actively supported with appropriate accounting and reporting as well as effective processes and controls.
Leverage internal and external relationships to ensure teams deliverables are in compliance with industry best practices and conforming to regulatory requirements.
Continuous improvement of the current processes, systems and tools while also building them for the future.
Help lead the Finance Division transformation and development of future processes, tools and systems to enable enhanced support of future business.
Refresh infrastructure of General Ledger and financial information to enable FP&A capabilities & support business segment accountability
Future end-to-end integration of financial systems
Enhanced automation and data enablement, driving enhanced management reporting and insights
Enable financial stewardship, strong business acumen and alignment to firm's purpose through effective communications and insights while building and leveraging business relationships.
Develop investor relation type communications for Finance Division that are well collaborated and integrated with other firm communications and reporting, which effectively share financial updates while aligning to firm's purpose messaging and other key communications.Position Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Finance or AccountingMinimum 15 years of related work experienceSignificant leadership experience with increasing levels of responsibility, demonstrating ability to lead multiple projects and multiple teams at the same timeBoth public accounting and financial reporting industry experience preferredFinancial services industry experience and knowledge of financial products preferredSkills needed related to problem solving, decision making and span of influence:Ability to analyze, comprehend, and leverage complex financial and/or operational data in order to share key insights that inform business decisions.Understanding of processes and outcomes that have a broad firm impact such as firm-wide financial communications, regulatory compliance, new operational or financial systems and support of new product/service launch. Ability to anticipate problems, understand broad implications and recommend and execute solutions. Problems are often complex and require knowledge of firm operations, regulations and industry best practices. This requires an understanding of current and future financial and technical climates in the industry, and assessing the potential impact to current processes, controls, systems and the firm's objectives.Ability to analyze information and use experience, creativity and sound judgment to make complex, non-routine decisions and manage complex matters and processes with limited guidance in a dynamic environment. Effective decision making over area of responsibility as well as high influence on firm level decisions through collaboration with other leaders. Effective collaboration and consultation with leaders within the firm and with external experts, stakeholders and service providers, to inform and influence firm direction and ensure best in practice standards - supporting and planning for current and future needs of the firm.Experience in Investor Relations preferredCPA or Advanced Degree or Certification preferredAdvanced to expert in accounting, financial analysis and communications (information systems a plus)
