Job Overview: The Food Safety & Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination, and management of all quality, sanitation, regulatory and food safety programs for the St. Charles location. The manager will also maintain compliance with TNT Crust, regulatory and customer requirements, execute the Quality Management System and drive quality improvement initiatives at the plant level. Responsibilities & Duties:* Manage direct and indirect reports within the FSQA Team to ensure product quality, safety and consistency* Maintain, monitor, update, and develop systems to support the company's food safety programs.* Lead GFSI program compliance and BRC certification. * Lead compliance with Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), including: Food Safety Plan (Preventive Controls), Preventive Control document reviews, and revision/consolidation/deletion of outdated documents.* Act as customer interface with plant to review product performance, respond to questions, requests, and complaints, and work with operations to ensure customer expectations are met.* Manage and implement supplier quality and compliance: supplier approval program, supplier documentation reviews, raw material issues.* Implement existing Food Safety Systems and identify opportunities for growth and improvement.* Oversee Integrated Pest Management program and contract services relationship.* Provide the food safety and quality training to plant personnel.* Manage and implement the Environmental Monitoring Program: data analysis, identify trends, and corrective actions; ATP testing and data analysis; Environmental swabbing.* Investigate customer complaints, analysis and trending of complaint data, lead root cause analysis and development of corrective and preventive actions.* Manage self-audit programs.* Ensures that proper sanitation procedures are used and that adequate sanitation tests are performed; provides troubleshooting support as needed.* Organize and lead monthly food safety team meetings.* Track, report and review the Quality Performance Indicators on a regular basis to drive continuous improvement. * Lead Gluten-Free and Organic Certification program compliance.* Serve as an advocate of our food safety culture.* Performs other duties as needed. Job Requirements:-- Bachelor's Degree in biology, microbiology, chemistry, food science, or related industry-- 10 years of food safety and quality assurance experience in a food manufacturing environment.-- Previous experience with GFSI audits, preferably BRC-- Previous people management experienceKey Competencies* Knowledge of Gluten-Free Certification Program and National Organic Program Requirements* Experienced and highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite* Strong critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills* Must possess excellent organization and time management skills
