This key leadership role will elevate the profile of Novus as a
leader in poultry nutrition. Global Poultry Technology Manager will
be the face of the company among the technical poultry community
and the key customers across the globe. Within the company, the
role will mentor the poultry technical organizations across all the
world areas, and will be seen as a key resource for technical
expertise. The role will also lead business relationships with key
customers, members of academia and technical opinion leaders in the
industry, and drive partnership with Research & Development in
defining and communicating technical solutions and application
information. Construct an effective relationship with the
scientific support community on a global level, and lead key
projects at the techno-commercial level involving long term
partnerships. Under general supervision from manager, operates with
autonomy and latitude in decision making.
- Co-develop and own business poultry strategy according to
company financial objectives. Main responsibility is to develop the
plan to develop technical organizational poultry capabilities to
meet future business needs and objectives, specifically for
Specialty Products and customer pain points.
- Own the technical storylines according to value proposition and
company product message. This requires a good understanding of
customer pain points and the ability to position the company
products within these pain points. This role expects that you
Champion Novus Specialty Products and Solutions (to offer the right
value to customers) with major focus on Minerals and gut health
products, linked to the main customer pain points. Therefore, this
role require that you liase between R&D and regional technical
services to identify the value propositions and supporting data
that can be commercialized and also identify what data and
information should stay with R&D as it is not ready to be
- Develop technical organizational capability to meet future
business needs and objectives, specifically for Specialty Products.
Therefore, this role is expected to develop not only product focus
but also a development of a service package. This requires
initiating and implementation of long term projects/ customer
collaborations to address customer pain points combined with
business growth in Novus specialty products.
- Train and coach the regional technical teams and sales teams on
new nutritional development, predominantly nutritional impact on
our product application. In addition, share successes and tactics
between world areas.
- Establish a close collaboration with the World Area Technical
teams, and R&D team by setting the technical agenda for poultry
and to discuss R&D plans, field learnings and budgeting, and
leverage R&D personnel in the field to present technical
concepts to key customers. This role is responsible for providing
guidance and 'one poultry voice' from the field to R&D as
related to support needed in the regions, priorities, and customer
- Support marketing with updating strategy according to changes
in market and customer needs. Therefore a close contact with the
poultry industry in the different WA's is required.
- Provide technical support to (global) key accounts in line with
the offering strategy (product + services). This requires to
partner with the commercial responsible of Global Accounts, and key
account managers across different world areas to develop and
execute a plan on initiatives to build long term sustainable
relationships with the customers. These plans should be documented
and include milestones and revenue targets.
- Further grow the companies image in poultry nutrition. For that
provide technical presentations at workshops, seminars and shows at
internal request as well as developing and maintaining
relationships with a KOL network is required. Also expansion of the
network within food chain is an important step for the future. In
general, represent Novus at industry meetings and
- Align with world area technical service managers with
objectives and direction of all field trials and reviewing field
trial reports before communicating it to the rest of the
organization. Monitor the efficacy and success rate of field and
customer trials and ensure their alignment with global and world
area marketing strategies. Coordinate with world area and global
marketing media (internal/external) to publish the field trial
reports (magazine article, TRS, incorporate info in product
- Promote effective information sharing of technical service
systems, processes and field trial results between the world
- Participate in the product launch process identifying the
technical needs required for successful product. Support business
development of existing activities while diversifying the company
by proposing new products development.
General Guidance for desired Knowledge/Skills/Experience:
- Advanced degree (MSc) or comparable training in poultry
nutrition and 10+ years of poultry technical service
- 5+ years of experience over multi-national technical service
- Practical experience with feeding of poultry and understanding
of poultry nutrition in different market segments around the
- Proven analytical skills and knowledge and experience with
calculating of poultry formulations.
- Multicultural business knowledge to determine course of action
in response to customer problems and opportunities.
- Recognized expertise with solid interpersonal, intercultural
and communication skills to moderate and facilitate technical
- Strong leadership skills to encourage efficient cooperation of
technical teams with sales, marketing, animal trials and R&D
- Excellent technical writing skills to support specialty
businesses with presentations, proceedings, media and journal
- Fluent in English.
- Willing to travel up to 50%
