Assembly Mechanic-Apprenticeship Company: Boeing is excited to
bring on aspiring mechanics to join our Assembly Mechanic
Apprenticeship program in St. Louis, designed to equip new
teammates the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in a fast-paced
manufacturing environment. Boeing Defense, Space & Security is
delivering the most digitally advanced, simply and efficiently
produced, and intelligently supported solutions to help warfighters
solve their toughest challenges. These products deliver front-line
capabilities for today’s warfighter and define the future of the
air wing with fixed-wing strike, training, autonomy and
crewed-uncrewed teaming. Employees are participants in a full-time
company sponsored on-the-job training program. The Assembly
Mechanic Apprentice program helps learners develop the skills
needed to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Assignments are structured to provide learning experiences that
lead to a course completion within a skill area. Upon applying to
this program, applicants will be considered for one of 3 pathways
based on their experience and interest: Structural, Electrical, and
Mechanical. The Structures cohort is a 15-week program. Upon
completion, the candidate will have successfully demonstrated the
knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the work of a Structures
Assembly Mechanic, to include, interpreting model-based drawings
and blueprints, following work instructions, Sealant application,
fastener layout, drilling, countersinking, fastener installation
and removal, trimming of parts, and identifying all required hand
tools, parts and equipment to accomplish defect-free work and
ensuring structural integrity and safety. The Electrical cohort is
a 15-week program. Upon completion the candidate will have
successfully demonstrated the knowledge, skills, and ability to
perform the work of an Electrical Assembly Mechanic, to include,
interpreting model-based drawings and blueprints, following work
instructions, Wire bundle routing, wire stripping, terminating,
wire bundle splicing, solder sleeves, connector build-up, bundle
dressing, Fiber optics, RF cable handling, and bonding and
grounding of parts and identifying all required hand tools, parts
and equipment to accomplish defect-free work and ensuring
structural integrity and safety. The Mechanical cohort is a 15-week
program. Upon completion the candidate will have successfully
demonstrated the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the work
of a Mechanical Assembly Mechanic, to include, interpreting
model-based drawings and blueprints, following work instructions,
torquing, installing safetying devices, rigging, installation of
fluid lines, component installation and identifying all required
hand tools, parts and equipment to accomplish defect-free work and
ensuring structural integrity and safety. What is a Technical
Apprenticeship? Boeing Technical Apprenticeship Program (BTAP), is
an official registered apprenticeship recognized by the Department
of Labor (DOL). It is an earn and learn program including formal
learning, on-the-job experiences, and mentorship. Every graduate of
a Registered Apprenticeship program will receive a
nationally-recognized credential from the DOL. What makes a great
Technical Apprentice? A degree is not required to apply for most
technical apprenticeship programs. We select apprentices based on a
range of core traits and skills, such as: Passion for continuously

your work Mechanical aptitude and eagerness to learn new things and
help others Positive attitude and strong work ethic Ability to work

with stakeholders What is the experience? As an apprentice, you'll
join with other apprentices in a cohort and go through experiences
together, learning Boeing, aerospace, and core Assembly
fundamentals. Additionally, managers and mentors will support
progress through the personal skills roadmap, learning and
demonstrating new skills through hands-on application with project
teams. During the apprenticeship duration, you will initially
complete a highly rigorous and accelerated learning program
tailored to develop foundational skills across manufacturing and
assembly. At the conclusion of the program, successful candidates
will have the chance to convert to a union-represented Assembly
Mechanic position where your skills will be enhanced with training
and on-the-job learning tailored for a specific program. Additional
Information: This program is located on the St. Louis Community
College – Florissant Valley campus Class start dates will vary
based on pathway and course schedule. Classes may be held on first
or second shift, based on demand for that session. Selected
candidates will be informed of their shift prior to the start of
the course Basic Qualifications: High School diploma or GED
Understanding of intermediate math Basic computer skills Able to
work any shift based on the needs of the operation Preferred
Qualifications: Experience using basic precision measuring tools
Experience working in a manufacturing environment Conflict of

candidates will receive a pay increase after converting to the
