The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is building the future - creating innovative solutions that will define the next generation of aerospace. Our team is seeking motivated, talented Associate (Level 2), Mid-Level (Level 3), and Senior (Level 4) Structural Design Engineers to join the Space, Intelligence and Weapon Systems (SIWS) Systems Engineering Team in Saint Charles, MO. You will innovate, develop, maintain and modify structural systems and component designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle.

The Space, Intelligence and Weapon Systems (SIWS) organization is dynamic and growing with a leadership team focused on attracting and developing top talent in support of critical missions on Direct Attack (DA) and Cruise Missiles Systems (CMS) programs. Connected to our customers' missions, we deliver unique capability through our exceptional talent. The programs that we support in Saint Charles, Missouri include Direct Attack weapons (JDAM, SDB, MOP, HAAWC and associated derivatives) and Cruise Missiles (SLAM ER, Harpoon and development weapons) utilized on various Military Aircraft, some Ground-Based Platforms, along with other future contract awards.

Position Responsibilities Include:

• Assist to develop, integrate and document structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design
• Develop, maintain and modify basic structural and interior payload system and component designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle
• Perform tests to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications
• Assist with supplier development, test and production activities and coordination with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals
• Supports investigation of emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements.
• Works under general supervision. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.
  
  This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
  
  Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • 1+ Year(s) of experience in engineering
  • 1+ Year(s) of experience with 3D modeling, 2D drawings and drawing packages Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
    • Mid-Level: 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Senior: 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Experience in applying engineering processes and principles
    • Experience/domain knowledge of system architecture, requirements, interface definition, verification, and validation
    • Military aircraft, weapons and/or commercial aircraft structures experience
    • Experience with systems development and integration
    • Experience with Model Based Engineering
    • Experience working both independently and in team environments
      
      Typical Education/Experience
      
      Associate (Level 2): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
      
      Mid-Level (Level 3): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
      
      Senior 4 (Level 4 Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

      Summary pay range for Associate (Level 2): $75,650 - $102,350
      
      Summary pay range for Mid-Level (Level 3): $90,100 - $121,900
      
      Summary pay range for Senior (Level 4): $113,050 - $152,950
